BirdPulse surpasses 100 members in less than 30 days!!

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Hey Everyone …. We Did It!!!

We officially launched our site on August 25th and we have now hit our first milestone - We have now exploded past the ‘100 member milestone’ in less than 30 days.  That means BirdPulse has been getting new members at a rate of 3.5 members a day. Just to put things in perspective, this rate rivals that of Facebook, in the first month of Facebook’s launch (We’ve also got 352 bird loving members in our Facebook Group - ‘For the Love for Birds’).

Thanks to all of you, our valued members, for spreading the word about BirdPulse and inviting your birdie friends to join the site that is ’strictly for the birds’ and the humans they allow to share their lives.  (You may think you are their owners but once they wiggle their way into your hearts, the role is reversed and THEY own US!)

If you belong to a bird club or bird group, spread the word to your fellow club members and your executive committee. If you do not belong to a local bird club, we encourage you to join a local bird club. We also encourage you to use the ‘Invite’ tool to send out invites to all your birdie friends. As more of your invitees sign up and you rack up Invite Points, you could automatically be featured on our Home Page.

We have a lot of FREE tools for clubs (or organizations) to use, for clubs that either have websites or do not have websites.

For clubs that have websites (and web administrators), we provide ‘BirdPulse Groups’ - a FREE tool to communicate with your members and enable your members to communicate with one another. You will have the ability to post events for your members (and track attendance for the Events using our RSVP feature), send emails to all your members and create your own forums where your members can discuss club topics. In addition to this, all the other services offered by BirdPulse are at your disposal - List an event in our Global Event section to increase your attendance, Advertise your club by posting your Ad in our Local Directory and much much more…

For clubs that do not have websites (and no web administrators), we enable you to create and host your own FREE Website on BirdPulse and use ‘BirdPulse Groups’ to communicate with your members and enable your members to communicate with one another. You do not need to know any HTML programming. Just fill out a simple web form and your site will be created instantly. You will also have the ability to post events for your members (and track attendance for the Event using our RSVP feature), send emails to all your members and get your own forums where your members can discuss club topics. In addition to this, all the other services offered by BirdPulse are at your disposal - List an event in our Global Event section to increase your attendance, Advertise your club by posting your Ad in our Local Directory and much much more…

We don’t like to toot our own horn, but we do believe that while the Free Group tools used by come clubs are good, our FREE ‘BirdPulse Groups’ tool is better, and will provide your members with a better experience and so we encourage you to give us a try and see for yourselves. If any of your clubs are interested in using BirdPulse Groups, we offer free setup and coaching, and we will be more than happy to assist with the setting up of the group and in any other way that we can.  As well, FREE websites are available to bird clubs or organizations who wish to join BirdPulse.

Here are some of the ‘official’ Bird Clubs that have created Groups on BirdPulse:

- Avicultural Advancement Council of Canada
- BFBS Bird Club (Toronto)
- Simcoe County Parrot Club
- York Region Parrot Club

And let’s not forget our ‘General’ Bird Groups on BirdPulse:

- Canadian National Bird Show (Annual)
- CEC Exotics Aviary
- Cockatoo Corral
- The Parrot Hotel
- UK Parrot Lovers

If you’ve been ‘on the fence’, now is the time to make it happen. We are now offering free setup and coaching for your Bird Club or Organization, so that you can use these incredible FREE tools to communicate with your members. Please feel free to email us, at any time with questions that you might have, at admin@birdpulse.com and your questions will be answered as soon as possible. We can also assist you with free setup and coaching for your Bird Club or Organization.

For those in (or visiting) the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario (Canada),  BirdPulse will have a booth at the Canadian National Caged Bird Show on Saturday, October 18th and Sunday, October 19th, 2008.  The details can be found in our Events Section in BirdPulse or Click Here. The BirdPulse Team will be present at the booth and we’ll be delighted to meet you and personally answer any questions you may have at that time.

So thanks again everyone and see you on the site.

Our Best to All,
-The BirdPulse Team

BirdPulse.com launches ‘Free Websites’ for bird clubs, events and organizations

Friday, September 12th, 2008

TORONTO, September 12, 2008 -  We’ve gotten even better! As some of you already know, BirdPulse is a new website strictly for the birds and their birdie parents will greatly benefit from the vast amount of knowledge, experience and expertise which is available throughout the bird community.

We are bird freaks and computer geeks who wanted a feathered friends sharing application that’s truly gone to the birds. Such a site didn’t exist, so we built it ourselves. The feathered love is backed with serious technology and years of coding experience.

Our goal is to:

(a) allow for the purest online reflection of people’s love and enjoyment of their birds;
(b) to connect you with other bird lovers, bird experts, local pet businesses, bird clubs and local events.

We’ve already added Forums, Diaries, Private Messaging, Videos, Photo Galleries, Classifieds, Groups and Events. Despite all these awesome features, we feel like we are just getting started. All of these are FREE and connect you with other bird lovers. We can try to tell you how great it is but you really have to pay us a visit to see for yourselves.

We are also passionate about helping bird clubs and organizations succeed by providing them with FREE tools and resources. We currently enable bird clubs and organizations to communicate with their members, build stronger relationships with their members and promote interactivity amongst their members. This is done via the ‘Groups’ tool, where clubs can send out bulletins to their members, post events for their members to attend and members can discuss club-related matters in their own Forums section.

Of course, this works well for organizations that have a website and a club member who is a web developer, because they host their own website and use BirdPulse to communicate with their members. After speaking with several bird clubs, we found that the smaller bird clubs either did not have the financial resources, technology or technology people required to sustain their own website. So we got to work….

The BirdPulse Team is excited to announce that we will be launching a NEW feature for bird clubs, events and organizations! We will be offering Free Website Hosting for those who would like the opportunity of promoting themselves online. It takes just minutes to setup your website on BirdPulse. As the templates are all there, you just need to fill out a simple form to activate your website, making it quite easy to create your website without being a computer geek or junkie. Of course, the BirdPulse Team will be happy to assist you with any problems you may encounter.

Think about it - You can create your FREE Website on BirdPulse and use the FREE ‘Groups’ feature of BirdPulse to communicate with your members. These are the 2 essential features you need to ensure the success of your club in the Internet Era.

*This new feature will be available on Saturday, September 13th, 2008 so mark your calendar!

But it doesn’t stop there; we offer you even more FREE ways to increase the awareness of your club. You can also list your business in the ‘Local Directory’ on BirdPulse and post your club events in our global ‘Events’ directory to attract members outside your clubs. Other ways to increase awareness would be to participate in the forums, post articles, photos and videos. Tell the world why your club is the club to join!

It is also hoped that with the various bird clubs, breeders, experts and bird lovers joined together, the lives of our feathered friends will be greatly enhanced.
